N°73 RISCH PIERRE- LES OISEAUX MUSICIENS
"This splendid pastel is a true symphony of rare tones that combines all shades of green to the most acidic, blue - grey, violet pink, deep violet, with a small touch of yellow that stands out cheerfully with the grace of a sprig of mimosa."
Those two"multicolour birds" must have escaped from some tropical forest to go and play the piccolo in a band at the Bale Carnaval.
Musee du Carnaval de Binche N°60-DEVANT LE FLORIAN-1985 Painter, engraver, lithographer, watercolourist, Risch became known mostly as a painter of pastels. He revived the technique which had been somewhat neglected since the XVIII century, its golden age. These last few years he has chosen to use this medium for the colourful world of the Carnivals: Bale, Binche and most importantly Venice. Thus he has produced some sensitive sparkling works, where the magic of dreams, contrasts with the reality of the costumes and poses. The traditional couple of the Venice Carnival: with tricorn, lace jabot, bauta and mask with a bird beak, standind in front of the Cafe Florian. If it was not for the small multicolour confetti, you would think you are back in the XVIII century.
